why can i hear nothing ?

i made an array with a phasor and try to read this with the same phasor.
i am comming from granularsynthese book 3.7.1 and wondering why the phasor soley not work but with the expr !?

after installing the vm box and installing xubuntu. what is the correct way to install pd without having problems. if i install pd over the marketplace in ubuntu i get no gem and have issues after starting pd and the middle wheel on the mouse doesn't work !

and how can i use external audio interfaces ?

if i make an array i have always fat lines (polygons etc.)
if i open p.e. simple synth osc patch the lines are small (as should be) with the same settings in the array's ?

as standard in the stand alone version of pure data extended.

if i save a patch with asio as standard and reopen this patch by double clicking on it the asio driver is selected. if i open pd and then open the patch the standard driver is selected ??

i am going to buy a new pc.
what is better for pd a windows pc or a mac ?

i am learning pd just now. i am on the floss puredata book and the "osc5.pd" patch.

my graphics array has a more thicker line than in the patch example. if i copy this array i have also the thinner lines but if i create my own they have thicker lines !?

i checked everything in the properties

there is an app to connect pd with an internal virtual intruement like FM8 or massive or absynth over midi. i can' t remember the name but it works like the iac driver on a macintosh.

i also use daw's

i've a macintosh pc and after starting PD in the console are some error messages saying that X11 is not loaded or so. (i'm not on my computer now). what could this mean ?

in the PD description it reads "... use osc~ instead of cycle~..." why ?
