i've a macintosh pc and after starting PD in the console are some error messages saying that X11 is not loaded or so. (i'm not on my computer now). what could this mean ?

it means x11 is not loaded.

you need to install xcode developer tools

No, you don't need the whole Xcode installation. Just X11.
