Hi there,
I'm using the scala object by Else and the zl lookup object by cycleone

I send the list of frequency from the left outlet of scala into the right inletof zl look up. I then insert number between 0 -127 to the left inlet of zl look up. I'm expecting it to output the corresponding frequency from the scala list but nothing is output.
What I'm doing wrong?

Also - how can I monitor any info in a message object? same as you would insert to the right inlet in message object in max MSP - is there anything similar in pd ?

In right inlet: Sets the contents of the message box without triggering output.

@KMETE I think you're looking for the 'set' prefix (this will work for simple lists -- it gets trickier if you need special characters like commas and dollars-es inside the box):

Since pd vanilla version 52 there is that new list-atom-box in the put menu or at ctrl+4 .
Works for lists, symbols, floats ...

it gets trickier if you need special characters like commas and dollars-es inside the box

Thanks that was vey helpful.
when I try to type a number inside a number box it is not working. The only way for changing the numbers is by clicking the mouse and scrolling. There is no wy to type into number boxes?

OK.

If you create a button or toggle, you might notice that:

• If you are not in edit mode, clicking on the object produces the output.
• If you are in edit mode, clicking on the object selects it but does not trigger output.
• If you are in edit mode, ctrl- clicking on the object produces output.

Number boxes behave the same way. Not in edit mode, you can click and type a number. In edit mode, ctrl-click allows you to type. I just confirmed that this is true in PlugData as well as the vanilla Pd GUI.

(On Mac, cmd- instead of ctrl-.)

In both interfaces, use ctrl-E to toggle between edit and performance modes. In PlugData, the + icon in the toolbar is dimmed when not editing (AFAICS this is the only way to know which mode you're in).

Edit edit... one minor interface goof in PlugData is that: performance mode, clicking a number box turns the arrowhead blue (so you know it's typeable). In edit mode, ctrl-click does not turn it blue but it's still typeable (I tried it, no problem).

If you can post a link that would be useful.

In Pd a list..... like 1 2 3.... is distributed to the inlets of most objects. You can see that in use when you send a message into [line]. Is that what you mean by "connecting outlet of an object to multiple inlets of another object in one go"?

When using the right inlet of a message in max, the message box kind of behaves like a float module , a verry handy feature and strangely enough not really documented .

Thanks but I don't get it all the way. -
There is no way for typing numbers in performance mode and that they will be outputed when type is finished?

Well, OK... it's possible that there's a bug in PlugData's UI in the OS that you're using. I can promise you that in Linux, number boxes are definitely type-able.

I see now. One must press enter in order the number he types to take place. I am used from MaxMSP that you can just press the anywhere outside the number box after the type and it will work.
