For a work Im doing I will have multiple audio files (around 10 - 15) on an sd card.
I would like to playback them using pd .
What is the best way for loading and playback audio file in pd? I'm coming from the Max/MSP platform. Is there any object simillar to groove~? or perhaps it will be better to read the file from the sd card using an object similar to sfplay~ ?

Yes. You need to start playback with a nonzero number into the inlet, and stop playback with a 0 into the inlet. This is shown in the help patch -- it isn't sufficient only to open the file.

Edit I fixed it; I had two spaces after open instead of only one space

when I open the help file for the readsf~ object and place the same open message I posted as a snapshot at my second post it was playing the file!
Why is not working in my pd patch but working in the help file patch?

edit: Another question I have:
It seems that I need to press the open message in order to load the file again each time it reach the end. Is there anyway to load a file and be there by default without the need of loading it each time? (of course, I could bang the open message each time the file reach the end, but I was wondering if there is a better solution ?

So I found this thread which explain how to pause an audio file with readsf~
The problem I'm facing is that it can't work with more then 1 readsf~ object in a patch. The moment I added another readsf~ object for playing another audio file it won't work.

It seems to work just fine.
At the moment, when the audio file reaches it end it will immediately start playing from the beginning. I would like that when the file reaches it end, it will be back to time zero(the beginning of the file) but will not start by itself rather only when I push a toggle to something. How can I do so ?

@omer1789 It is very difficult to stop the playback using [phasor~] because detecting the instant that [phasor~] wraps back to zero is unreliable.
You can use [line~] or better [vline~] instead of [phasor~]
They will do the same.... create a ramp from 0 to 1, but just once.

Otherwise, [readsf~] is easier like this.......... cart_wav_simple.pd
But because it uses [switch~] to pause playback you should open multiple copies of the cart..... one for each track..... rather than copying the patch numerous times into the same window.
[switch~] will then only turn off and on dsp processing (and so pause playback) for that individual window.

Because the name of the track will be lost (because all the copies of the abstraction are identical) you will have to add the name as an argument...... so [cart_wav_simple 07023329] and within the abstraction [open /Users/....../music/$1.wav] The abstraction will then open the track with the argument as its track name.

If you set the GOP (graph on parent) to on for each abstraction with the red box just around the playback controls then you can have a neat main patch with just those controls showing.
Right-click to properties within the abstraction to set the GOP and then save the abstraction.

@omer1789 No, an array can only be one channel.
You do not need to copy the whole patch, just modify it like this...... I don't know the name of the right channel, but....... this.pd

Here you probably need to declare that the incoming for $1is a symbol....... i.e.
[symbol /Users/omer/Music/002.wav( for the message.

In the following post you often need to add a [list trim] after a [list append] (or [list whatever]) so as to remove the list tag....... because in the end what you need is a symbol, and not a list.

Does Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is enough to run Pure Data with a patch that play multiple audio files and some processing such as delay, reverb etc ?
Or better to have Raspberry Pi 3 ?
