I'm wondering if anyone has implemented a Pd version of MAX's stutter and if there's a canonical way or technique to perform stutter effects.
cheers
stutter FX like MAX's stutter~ object or other similar stuff?

@porres I think a patch could be made to emulate [stutter~] using the circular buffer [ipoke~] in Pd. Adding auto triggering for recording and phase adjustments to [phasor] for a playback start point..
It works well for a space echo. With no input and maximum feedback of the loop once triggered it could be made to stutter........ https://forum.pdpatchrepo.info/topic/13234/tape-loop-effect/8
David.
Stutter effect can be easily done using a delay. If you have something going into a tabwrite~ and send out of a tabread~ you can simply bypass the input for the tabwrite~ and route the tabread~ back into tabwrite~, like feedback with no gain setting.
Something like this:
I saw you were working on a new version of the delay objects. I think I saw a freeze function in that? That will probably be able to make a nice stutter effect too
@porres I might be interested in providing a [stutter~]
clone to cyclone or something, if I can figure out exactly when the signal is copied from the record buffer to the play buffer.
Specifically, if I can figure out which samples are referred to by the 4th argumnt, number-of-copied-samples, and how they are transferred to the play buffer and how they save memory... mght be a question for their forums
