The convolve~ object from William Brent's convolve~ library does this very well.
Here is a patch with a "Convolve" module made from William Brent's object.
You need the convolve~, cyclone, pddp and zexy libraries.

than its alias:
[zexy/demux] or [zexy/demux~]

[step~] and [dirac~] are present in zexy-v0-0extended and in the last version: zexy[v2.3.0]
