Hi all!
So, following what may have been my faulty installation, the Spout objects are not loading in the included spoutSend-help file.
1)Could it be because I am on WIndows 10?
2)I followed these Spout Instructions which were for PD 0.47.1 on Windows 8.
3)There were some steps I was not able to follow: After pressing the [New…] button write libdir and press the [Ok] button.
After pressing the [New…] button write Gem and press the [Ok] button. As no option to select PD libraries to load on Startup appeared.
I think this is because this functionailty is not applicable to PD 43,4 extended(or anymore for that matter).
I do not think the GEM library needs to be loaded on startup as I am using Extended, however, maybe libdr??
I have tried to be as explicit as possible, however, If more clarification is needed, just ask.
To reiterate PD 43,4 extended Windows 10 Home 1083

@whale-av finally got a chance to try twin_cam.pd
I don't understand how but it is working as I`m writing this, I haven't even tried the extended view yet, I had to change a couple things and play around a biit and then finally it worked!!

@whale-av Cheeeeeerrs....thanks so much for your response. This is for the installation I've been patching in extended, so vanilla would be a no-go unfortunately.....I'll check this stuff and report back:)

Ok, so I have done a search, and the only solution seems to be to hardware oriented.
Is there not another way to retrieve information from multiple webcams simultaneously?
As of now I am trying the laptop cam and an external cam...
As expected, only the laptop cam is detected as I switch that patch on first.

Hi helpful community!
So, I´ve more or less learned how to use a webcam for motion detection in pd and how to translate the detection into parameter changes.
However, as what I am developing will be used in the dark much of the time, I have realised I am wasting my time.
I know about IR sensors, however, I was wondering if there were any specific recommendations from the community.
I am running pd extended 0.43.4 on an Alienware 15 R3 running WIndows 10(coding takes place on an ASUS F550l running Windows 8 much of the time)
edit: for capitalisation

@whale-av Heyy, could you confirm that you indeed loaded a picture when testing this out?
since then I tested this on a macbook pro I7(like the one you used) and on my new Alienware R5 with a GTX 1070 and little improvement..
However, when no image is loaded, smooth as silk as you said..
I have noticed a huge improvement in visual perfomance since the acquistion, except for this.....

@whale-av Okkkk...
a year later and still working on this project..
In retrospect, changing the resolution to my screen size created a really nice effect, however, it is NOT the same horizontal blur that occurs in the 500 by 500 standard square in the example....
They are more copies of the teapot on the depth plane..
Can you or anyone confirm that you can get the motionblur example working in fullscreen mode?
It's a bit misleading that the description included is fullscreen motionblur
I'm now working with 1920 x 1080, changing to this resolution(in snap2tex) doesn´t help at all in the included example. I'm also now using a GTX 1070 so definitely not the problem.

Hi all! Hope this finds whomever reads this in good spirits..
if you click the respective .05 and .01 messages(at different times, not at once) at the top of this patch, the corresponding sliders should move at the same speed, however, instance 2 seems to be ignoring [* 200000] and jumps directly to the target number.
Moreover, the subtraction object is outputting the value from [r nNumber] as 0, whereas in instance 1, the operation is performed correctly.
It is quite confusing as both instances are carbon copies of the other, I have only changed the respective send and receives
grateful for all and any help. thanks!!
ps... I should add that the purpose of the [* 200000] is to slow down the movement of the slider, this functions perfectly in instance 1

@whale-av OKKKK, so you made me think..
Even though the MIDI section of TOUCHOSC was updating the IP automatically. The OSC section, which, as per your info, I have realised is what matters, was NOT updating...manually configuring it does the trick.

@whale-av well, maybe i´m missing it, however, this is an older version of TouchOSC...there seems to be no option for that...so I would say no?

@whale-av thanks as usual for your swift response...
Ok, let´s begin...
Firewall is totally disabled....while allowing pd just for good measure.
bonjour is installed
I´m using this test simple-receive.pd on port 8000
I have set the midi device to Touch OSC
And the ip address is fine as Touch OSC is detecting it automatically.
It works perfectly with Renoise.
There must be some small detail I´m missing.

Happy New Year All!
Ok, so last year I was able to use my android tablet to communicate with PD on my windows 8 laptop using touchosc..
I took a 5 month haitus and upon my return it doesn´t work anymore!! Ha ha, I have absolutely no clue why.
Previously I was connecting via hotspot from my android tablet, using wi-fi also worked.
Now neither method works.... touchosc does not even detect my laptop anymore
I also have a new laptop running windows 10, same problem, however, using wi-fi works between Renoise on the laptop and my tablet. TouchOsc only detects my laptop using wi-fi.
The major changes I think of on the old laptop are: bssdk.dll went missing.....(bluetooth related) and there was a trojan which supposedly has been removed. I have had zero functionality problems with the exception of this touchosc issue.
tablet: asuszenpad 10
laptop 1: asus f550l Windows 8 32 bit
laptop 2: alienware 15 r3 Windows 10 64 bit
firewall disabled on laptop 2, set to allow for pure data and renoise on laptop 1
To be clear, I am most interested in getting it to work on laptop 2.
I must be missing something simple....any and all help appreciated:)
EDITS: because I can´t spell.......more edits: adding important info

THANKSSS
@whale-av (edit:forgot to tag you)
I thought i wanted the value outputted to return to zero, however, it didnt seem to work as expected...the continuous string of zeros approach is working..
I have several reasons why I need this, one of which is to send a message to "ktrigger" using a csound module....it needs to be triggered one at a time, as if it were a button.

Ok, I probably should be phrasing this better, but here it goes..
From what I have observed, control signals seem to be sent by the millisecond even if you only bang or update a parameter once, I assume this is because PD needs to be constantly updated.
How does one go about sending only ONE message, for example, sending a 1 so that PD reads it as 1, 0 , 0, 0, 0 etc?
I have tried sending a message of 1, 0 , however, it seems to register as nothing...
Maybe I haven´t expressed myself well enough, do ask for clarification..
Thanks, hope all are enjoying their summer!!!

@gsagostinho I just did a test....you are correct, I never add .pd when saving...
I saved a test file(that was previously unseen by explorer) with .pd and now explorer sees it! I need to keep testing but so far this is something...thxxxxxxx!

Ok, the title of this post was dumbed down for efficiency's sake...
I am truly at a loss here...
Many times, for example...when a modify a help file and rename it(in the very same folder), I can´t find it when I use windows explorer via pure data...however, using windows explorer outside of pd, yes.
Vice versa, I have saved many versions of a project in a folder, now windows explorer does not see them, however, when I access explorer via pd, there the files are.
This is a problem that I only notice with pd, I have never seen anything like it before..
I must be missing something..
Any help or guidance would truly be appreciated.
