i wouldnt know what to call this, it uses fm, am, additive, reads from arrays to do modulate a bunch of things, uses the keyboard ascii code and translates it to binary to function as switches to turn on and off the sounds of 7 different oscillators...
just turn on the compute audio and listen to it play by itself
you can also turn off the metro to play it with your keyboard...
anyways i hope you like it, any comments, modifications will be greatly apreciatted.
peace!

this is a beautiful sounding patch!
i think the 1 hz noise-taboscs are necessary for making this kind of repetitive
fm, but i have replaced the taboscs for the slower volume modulation.
i have attached a version with some more controls and random seed, for
use as a kind of "drone-synth". without the binary stuff though. i hope it is close
to the original, concerning the sound.http://www.pdpatchrepo.info/hurleur/binary_rndfmsynth_drone.pd

the 1 hz taboscs modulate the fm even further for a more dirty grainy eroded fm sound. i wanted the array to read from a noise source for that fm texture, when the index reaches a high number the fm sounds brighter thanks to the osc~ and eroded thanks to the noise source... i agree it consumes a lot of memory but i dont know how else to obtain that texture with fm.

wow, love martin's version. has a great metallic ring at some settings, very cool.
i'm sitting here playing with the original, martin's, and mine, all running at once. sounds great.
you guys are right. the periodically oscillating noise is good. i have put it back, albeit with control objects generating the noise.

mnb you have made a great modification!
im a bit curious how did you manage to hide everything, id like to see the insides. -
mod im having tons of fun with yours, it sounds insaaaaaaaaane i love it
-
i have not hidden anything. i have just put everything into a gop-subpatch, for
using it together with my other "instruments" and not taking too much space
on the screen. (right click/open to see the mess inside) -
awesome!! thanks!

Nice post, very interestig the development... I would like to work with... but after my vacation...!!!

Nice stuff. Weird, but sounds cool, especially if you want to do some noise/drone music. I would like to try it out with a vocoder.

Hi,
This is a really neat patch! I tinkered around with it and added lots of controls to it. I also included Katjav's great Octave Harmonizer and Tremolo patches to it as well.
Cheers,
Michael
ps. Use "direct" slider to control the volume of the synth, and "dac-out" to control the volume of the trem and octaver. the 2 rows of black toggles on the right: the bottom row allows you to select which oscillator is playing, and the top displays it. metro allows you to control the rate of change, and the bin_auto will randomly select oscs. If you change the midi values for any osc and want to reset to the default, hit the F_reset.
