Hello!
I cannot seem to get the iem_send object to work. It is not accepting the message I am sending to it's right inlet to be used as the new send label. It could be that I cannot give it $0- labels, but I cannot find any documentation on this problem. Has anyone else experienced this?
Please see the patch I have included below.
I really need to use the $0- send label as can be seen in the patch. Any help would be greatly appreciated,
thank you!Michael

Hi There!
I'm working with OSC and am using Martin Peach's [udpreceive]. A big problem I am encountering is that when I open the patch, none of the [udpreceive nnnnn] objects, which worked just fine before I closed and saved the patch, cannot be created, and appear with that red object box instead of a solid box.
Has anyone else encountered this?
It's so strange. I know that the [udpreceive] object displays as a red box if you give it a port number that is already in use, but why does this happen if I am not using these ports elsewhere when opening the file?
I will upload the patch. Please keep in mind it's really early in development. Click on the subpatch [pd all_local_receives], each subpatch within contains a broken [udpreceive nnnnn]
Thanks!!!!

Hello everyone!
I have a very important performance coming up. I have a pd patch which dynamically creates audio loop patches, and so I am worried about pd running into cpu resource issues. presently, pd reports the patch running with 22% cpu usage, but that will increase with each new dynamic patch, and i'm also running an arduino with an rfid shield, which will be sending data to the pd patch.
Can anyone recommend some things to do in order to optimize my computer?
I have an apple macbook pro. OSX Lion. 8GB 1333 MHz RAM. 2GHz Intel i7 Processor.
I'm Running the audio at 48KHz using an Apogee Duet 2.
So I'm wondering about whether freeing up hardware space, removing programs, if there are any background programs i can disable temporarily for the performance, etc.?
Thanks!

Hello,
I have made an abstraction that accepts data from a logarithmic scale slider/knob and allows the min value to be 0. It is somewhat crude, in that by default the min value in the slider's properties needs to be set to 0.1.
Can someone offer an expr object that would allow a user to scale the "A and B" objects to whatever the minimum value of a slider is set to? (Also, near as I can tell, the sel object only allows for integers as creation arguments. Is there a way around this?)
Thanks, and I hope you find my initial patch to be helpful.

I am looking to make a momentary switch, so that when you click and hold a mouse button the switch sends the number 1, and when i stop holding the mouse click it sends the number zero.
Thanks!

Hello List! I have been working with Pd-extended (42.5) for over a year now. I stopped using Pd for about 3 months, and now i'm returning to some larger patches that worked fine back in april but now when i attempt to open them pd freezes and doesn't load all the way. Has this happened to anyone else? I have no problem opening pd on it's own, nor opening relatively simpler patches.
Here is one of the patches i'm trying to open, is it giving people the same or similar results?
I have an important performance coming up in 3 weeks and I really need these patches to work. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.
Also, if i were to update pd to one of the newer extended releases, would i have to re-install my libraries?
Thanks!
Michael

Hello.
I am using some externals from the soundhack library, and in my patch i want to have four channels with a copy of each external per channel operating independently of each other.
for example:
[adc~ 1] [adc~ 2]
| |
[+pitchdelay~] [+pitchdelay~]
| |
[dac~ 1] [dac~ 2]the +pitchdelay~ appears in the directory as +pitchdelay~.pd_darwin
The problem I am encountering is that regardless of whether i have controls with differently named sends and receives, the controls that operate on the pitchdelay darwin file cause the channels to interfere with each other.
I hope i'm being clear...
I've never encountered these darwin files, and i have tried many different things to get around the problem, such as making a copy of the darwin file and renaming it +pitchdelay2~.pd_darwin in the directory, but pd places a red box around the object in the patch, which i know means that it can't find or recognize it.
I have uploaded the help file, the darwin file, along with my patch for reference. (my patch is still being developed so it's a bit messy at the moment!
Also, i'm using the morph filter and granular delay from soundhack as well, so the same problem above applies to them as well.
Any help would be tremendously appreciated!!
thanks!
Michael
