I try to do:
when counter is zero the output from gate will be 1023 and all income data will be ignored (gate is closed)
when count is one gate is open and all income data will pass.

when I open the patch and for the first time press the toggle it won't output 1023. only at the second time when counter is already had ar round of counting 0 --> 1 .

What am I missing?

@KMETE If you loadbang a [1( into the left inlet of gate that should work.
It seems the gate is closed when created...... and it doesn't get opened until the [1( after [sel 0 1] is banged by the first 1 from the counter.
[spigot 1] instead of [gate] could be simpler as you can set its creation state with the argument.

BTW [gate] takes two arguments: #1 is the number of outlets, #2 is which outlet to open first.

So you can write [gate 1 1] and it should remove the need for the loadbang. (This is even demonstrated in the gate help patch.)

I see there's a followup question, but I'm short on time at the moment... perhaps later.

@KMETE I think you are complicating the patch (just slightly) by trying to pass the [1023( message through the gate...... when that is unnecessary.
This should work...... simple.pd
