Hey all
another noob question, but I promise I did a lot of reading and watched videos and googled before asking here.

I'm using PD ceammc and I want to trigger env.adsr~ with a metro or basically any bang I send it, but it doesn't seem to be working. The weird thing is that the env.ar~ object does work this way. I can send a osc.sin~ and a metro to it and it works as I'd expect. This is probably one of these moments when moving from my hardware brain to my software brain understanding of how synths work is the problem.

the help documentation for env.adsr~ is confusing to me because it wants to use a keyboard and unpack midi info ( or something?).

I also found env.adsr~ a bit difficult to use. You can use "@gate 1" and "@gate 0" messages to start / stop the last envelop.

Also, if you check the help file, there is a "play" method allowing to "runs envelope and release it after specified time". You need to fill the duration as argument, like "play 1000".

Also you can ask for a bang method here (the consistency with env.ar~ is a nice argument ).

The author is really open to discussion about his objects and already modify many of them after I sent suggestions.

Then try the "play 1000", It should be a similar concept to "bang" behavior.

@WEIRD1 Open the help browser and open Pure Data->3. Audio Examples->D02.adsr.pd. Click on {Bang(, watch what happens, click again, hook up a metro, spend a little time with the other stuff under that Pure Data entry in the help browser.

is it online? I dont see it in this help list attached am I missing something?

I tried this and it worked! just one question, what does the "1000" mean because it seems to act basically like sustain? like if I change it to "play 500" it seems to sustain differently regardless of the sustain augment within the object.

It says the time is the envelope duration. I guess It's like @gate 1 ---> delay 1000 ---> @gate 0

@WEIRD1 Built in help browser, assuming CEAMMC did not change the hotkeys just hit control-b, if that does not work go to the help menu and select browser.
