Hello all!

I have created a patch to test out my new found love of dynamic patching. But I have ran into a bit of a wall. I can happily create sub-patches by increasing a number object, but I would like to remove said sub-patches when decreasing the number box.

Any ideas how I can go about doing this?

@Roomy Deleting objects is not easily possible. The best way is to clear the subpatch and to create everything from scratch.

There is a way to select an object with the [mouse( message to delete an object. If you are certain that clearing the subpatch is not an option, i could elaborate...

@Roomy As you are keeping track of your abstractions you can delete them like this......
You will need to send the [findagain( message the correct number of times before sending [cut(
It will find them in the order in which they were created.
[find( finds the first.
[findagain( then finds the second, then the third..... etc.

I forgot that window focus is a small problem after a deletion.
Easily resolved with a [findparent( message which returns focus to the parent window.

There is an option to simulate a mouse selection and cut it.

This means, you have to store the postition of an object one way or another, instead of the order of creation.

As weird as the option seems to be, it has one quality.

The position on the patch of an object is not changed if you delete another objet. When the position of this object in the creation order is.

Can help avoid headache sometime.

If you're fine using externals, [canvasdelete] from iemguts can do what you need.

@whale-av This is exactly the thing I'm after (Thank You)!!! I might have to have a play with it to correct the "new" abstraction placements after the first instances have been removed. They seem to be placed continuing from the deleted ones.

Edit: Also thank you for clearing the patch up a bit. I was throwing stuff together blindly without consideration. You've done me another favour clearing it up !
