Crackling ASIO on PD Vanilla 0.48 test 2 on 64 bit Windows
Hi all and Miller,

@alfonso.santimone perhaps you need a bigger latency or perhaps you need to change the samplingrate in the pd audio settings to the same of your sound device?
@Jona i'm using the correct SR settings and the same buffer size as in other audio software (Max, Reaper, Ableton Live).
Strangely enough even if i select ASIO via portaudio in the device selection only MMIO devices appear. I guess there is something strange in the portaudio extension in the 64bit test version. I'm using Presonus Quantum as audio interface.
In Purr Data everything works...i go check if in 32 bit vanilla works or not. Could it be a 64bit test version issue?
Do you have the crackling with all patches, even with the simplest and least cpu consuming?
If you find the cause of the problem, I'll be glad to know. In Camomile, there is an issue that could be related to this problem. I don't know if it's specific to Camomile/libpd/Pd itself or JUCE so I didn't push the information upstream.
And you should use the mailing list.
Hi all and Pierre,
i just did a quick test on pd 32 bit (vanilla 4.8.1 stable) and on pd 64bit (vanilla 4.8.1 test2).
this is the 32 bit driver selection page
and this is the 64bit one
given that in the 64bit version ASIO drivers don't appear
i guess is a portaudio issue. maybe Miller didn't compile the portaudio 64bit version?
As far as i can tell about the "old" Camomile 1.0.1 i've got no problems in Reaper 64bit.
Now i'll do my first test on 1.0.3 on my new i7 desktop machine (still warming after a heavy production work with tons and tons of tracks and plugins).
PS - Pierre do you mean the old pd mail list here https://www.mail-archive.com/pd-list@iem.at/ ?
Ok...did a quick test of MiniMock, Bulgroz and Castafiore from Camomile 1.0.3 in Reaper 64x. Audiowise everything works fine (there is a little thing wich i don't know yet if it's Reaper or Camonile bug...when looping and the loop go from end to start in Reaper track goes mute as if it is a too much high volume).
But no glitching and audio quality issues.
Thank you! So it still needs to investigate
PS - Pierre do you mean the old pd mail list ...
Yes, it's seems to be what Miller uses.
when looping and the loop go from end to start in Reaper track ...
I created an issue for this
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!
