note: this same concept/patch also includes the diy2 effects. But in them there is no initbang.

@svanya Hello Svanya. I realised recently that I ended up using initbang instead of loadbang without asking whether it was necessary. In extended it was just easier not to bother thinking about it. Could the same be true in "Stamp Album". It is only required in the dynamic building of patch modules where inlets and outlets are being created at load (because they will be absent when the mother patch is built and so the connections will be "abandoned").
So....... you could work around it in many circumstances by using [send] and [receive] instead, or by having the maximum required quantity of [inlet]'s and [outlet]'s already present in the patch before it is dynamically built (a bit inefficient that!).
I believe that some Pd forks have incorporated [initbang]..... and that iem included it at some point in the past.
For Vanilla....... it can be added through the included deken plugin (Help menu...... Find externals).

I was once suggested the following hack:
In your patch (probably abstraction), put this:

When you're done with your abstraction, open it in a text editor, and at the very bottom of the file add the following line:
_initbang bang;
Mind that you shouldn't put any characters like #X or anything like that, just the line above.
Note that whenever you edit your abstraction, this line will be deleted, so you'll need to write it every single time you change something.

Also note that [initbang] is available through deken in the iemguts library.

Anyway, hopefully an [initbang] kind of thing will be included in Vanilla one day, maybe as a flag to [loadbang]. There's been discussion about it on the pd list, but it might take a while or never happen though.

I went through a similar problem, I needed it for an abstraction with dynamic patching in my external library, but didn't wanna add another dependency, so I had to come up with my own external [else/loadbanger], which incorporates many features from different objects like max's [loadbang], cyclone's [bangbang] and [initbang], so even if this gets included in vanilla, I can still have an use for this external. Now, if I'd known about this trick, I probably wouldn't have bothered to make this external

It's good that the demise of Extended is forcing things to be included in Vanilla, but that's still at a very slow pace.
