This looks very interesting. I'm thinking it might be a good candidate for control with a Monome. Would you be so kind as to attach the actual patch for us to try?

Hi,
I saw your znet sequencer earlier today, so I thought I'd have a look at pdpcap. My main question is: is it possible to select which network interface is monitored? Thanks

This patch is excellent! Loads of brilliant sounds! Thanks you!

Tried extracting the file from the commandline this time. Almost everything was extracted: is there meant to be a file called !.pd ? It shows up as 0 bytes...

I get an error trying to open the file in Linux:
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

Hi there:
the archive for your demo patch seems to be empty.
Please try posting it again....

Check out weng's axiome patch:
http://puredata.hurleur.com/sujet-2082-axiome-live-sample-cuttingThis patch is designed to work with a monome 40h, so having a look at the pertinent parts might be quite edifying....
cheers,

What fun this patch is!
I'm having one problem, though: the fourth channel didn't seem to be generating sound. I'm in Linux, and used aconnectgui to connect Pd's MIDI in and out. The first three channels work and sound brilliant, but number four is silent... -

I've used a Novation Xio 25 controller/synth in Linux. The Novation patch manager/ controller mapping utility works well under Wine on Linux. Is the Nocturn not recognized ?

If you haven't already, do check out the mnb instruments package as well. There are a lot building blocks in there. My favourites are the dualdelay1s, pcf1s, and rockaloops. Grainstates and groovebox are good fun as well.
I've had no trouble opening these using the last two versions of Pd-extended.

Hi
I've been having fun with Axiome lately. Here are some results:

Still no Monome, but I will be building a 40H kit soon.
For these tracks, Axiome is aided and abetted by delays and pattern-controlled filters by Martin Brinkmann( http://www.martin-brinkmann.de/pd-patches.html) and pureverb and compression from Hardoff's brilliant DIY2 set.

I'm not sure if this applies to Mac OS, but in Linux USB audio devices represent themselves two ways: as as hardware device, and as a plugin (for ALSA I presume). If this is indeed the case for Mac OS, then you might try checking which one Pd is usnig and select its alternate.
Once again, just throwing this out there.... -

Look to the w32codecs package from the Medibuntu repository, as well as the non-free-codecs package...

Cool! Are there any problems/issues that are Linux specific that people are having? I for one seem to have variable success with getting Pd to run well with JACk. I'm talking about low latency and no or minimal XRUNs. Anyone else ?

Hi!
Along with the examples included in Pd (By the way, did you install Pd, or Pd-extended), Obiwannabe's (http://obiwannabe.co.uk/) tutorials are quite good. Another well done tutorial is available here: http://en.flossmanuals.net/PureData .I've also found it very edifying to download and examine the brilliant work of some of the people on this forum as well. Check out the Patch forum for starters.
How many other Linux users are there on this forum ? I sometimes get the feeling that most people on the forum are using Pd in Windows or MacOSX, but I'm not sure....

I've just confirmed my suspicions: I bought the MSI Wind and installed UbuntuStudio without much incident. Installing Pd-extended as well. Haven't had a chance to to give Pd a really good workout yet, though. I'm expecting it to perform about as well as the old X41 Thinkpad I was borrowing from work. Both use single-core 1.6 GHz processors, and the Thinkpad worked fairly well.
