Something to share that combines a few different models in a linked way.
Start with a wind model based on turbulence, objects in the path vary their signals according to wind speed and their size and texture.
http://www.obiwannabe.co.uk/sounds/effect-wind3.mp3
And a rain model with carefully distributed droplets that make little clicks according to a range of textures they hit...
http://www.obiwannabe.co.uk/sounds/effect-plainrain.mp3
Next is a window pane built around a square lamina with glass-like character Here's a few knocks on the virtual window with a virtual stick.
http://www.obiwannabe.co.uk/sounds/effect-knockonwindow.mp3
and finally I combine them all in the same auditory scene with causal linkage, so the rain lashes against the window...

Booniers drum machine got me thinking about drums again so tonight I made this.
It's 3 techno drums that are quite efficient. The kick and snare contain no oscillators but use a wrapped line segment. Total DSP count - 4 multiplies and a cos. This trick is extended in the snare with a feedback around a second function which results in a chaotic band of noise around the center frequency. Becuase we use [vline~] and always start on the same phase they sound pretty tight.
best,

A really extra simple music tutorial for complete beginners. Make a 4 track sequencer that only uses selects and messages. As it's for a workshop there's a pdf you can grab, which may be updated with acrobat links at some point.

You have disturbed an angry nest of bees and must swat them all.
The game logic is a bit messed up, I could have made datastructure for a bee and some kind of accessor, anyway, apart from the crappy splat sounds its the sort
of idea that would work nice on a handheld as a sound game. You can hit them with your eyes shut or nogui by listening to the panning. -

A couple of new toys in the obiwannabe toyshop. Fiboverb is a reverb unit that uses Fibonacci numbers to create cool sounding changes of scale without feedback instability. Sparkle is a synth that morphs between a set of parameters continuously, for making nice rich pad sounds.

Space ambiences *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*
Alberto Zin recently posted a really beautiful space ambience patch that makes some amazing textures using a giant array of bandpass filters. It's a bit hungry on CPU but worth every cycle.

Machine-Machine
I posted a new patch for those making machine start-up and power-down noises for games etc. You can grab the it the ob1b toyshop.

New tuts
Lastly there are *three* new tutorials in the practical sound design pages this week. I've been busy completeing some stuff for the "Future Shock" part, all very fanciful but fun stuff
Astromech droid (an R2D2 patch that babbles away making endless droid bleeps)
ii) Laser beam - patches for making forcefields/laser beams
iii) Alien blood - acid boiling/fizzing soundsat the usual place
