i did ead~ as an expr~ equation so that you can make an ead~ curve from phasor~ or vline~

Thanks Hardoff. Frank made a very similar one for me. These days I try to avoid ead~ or use an equivilent like you've given, but unfortunately I sometimes miss odd objects that get into a design because they are inside something else and unless remember to do a text search on the file they slip through.

yeah, i know frank did that vead~, and that is what i based mine on.

mainly what i added was the ability to turn a phasor~ into a series of ead~ curves. it's really nice, for example, to use for LFO's so you get an exponential LFO sweep.

Is this an example of military use of pd?

I like the idea of using it to shape waves for LFOs, good to get that authentic RC oscillator curve that gives old analogs their character. In fact expr~ is very useful for shaping generally, you can solve all sorts of sound design problems with it. Problem is, it's a bit expensive. I'm not sure why. Frank seemed to think it might be a processor thing, I did some tests and found it really struggled on certain Intel and VIA architectures (about 1.5 times as expensive as equivillent atomic operations) but on AMD it was faster. Maybe some optimisation flags need setting when it's compiled. So, using [vead~] is an annoyance to me, but it's better than having people on Windows unable to load the patches at all (afaik [ead~] on MS Win is still a problem.
