I'm new with pd so maybe my question will sounds ridiculous,
but the counter object doesn't work in my patch. When I create a new object
and type counter the square becomes red and in my pd window it says"couldn't create"...

By the way, I'm on mac osx and working with pd-extended 0.42.5.

It works for me in 0.43.4-extended-20130117 on OS 10.6.8.

Try importing the cyclone or markex library. Or use [cup] from ekext. Or just build your own with a [f]x[+ 1] as in creb's [count].

Check the path to cyclone library in PD preferences

or copy the counter binary to your pd-externals folder or to your patch folder

In fact, pd won't load any library... kind of stuff that keeps me up all night

You might have a problem with your preferences file (cyclone should be loaded by default). You can find out where your preferences file is located here:

Find it and delete, and next time you run Pd it should use the default settings.

Is libdir listed first in the Startup dialog?

Also, since you're new to Pd, is there any reason why you are using 0.42.5? The most recent official release of Pd-extended is 0.43.4.
