Hi There!

I'm working with OSC and am using Martin Peach's [udpreceive]. A big problem I am encountering is that when I open the patch, none of the [udpreceive nnnnn] objects, which worked just fine before I closed and saved the patch, cannot be created, and appear with that red object box instead of a solid box.

Has anyone else encountered this?

It's so strange. I know that the [udpreceive] object displays as a red box if you give it a port number that is already in use, but why does this happen if I am not using these ports elsewhere when opening the file?

I will upload the patch. Please keep in mind it's really early in development. Click on the subpatch [pd all_local_receives], each subpatch within contains a broken [udpreceive nnnnn]

no red box on my mashine with [udpreceive]

No red boxes on mine either, but there was an issue I had with the mrpeach library for some hours some two months ago. I freaked out and sent to the list, but after a couple of hours or so, everything went back to normal.
Maybe you should post to the list, Martin Peach receives email from there so he might see it and answer.

Ok, thanks everyone. I changed the ports to lower numbers and it seems to have worked for me. I have met Martin, he has an office here at Concordia, I'll seek him out next time I'm near his department. Thanks for your help everyone!

I had the same problem and same solution: lowering the port number.

I just ran into this too, but it seems to let me use the port number I want (17002) if I save the patch in the mrpeach folder. That seems like a bad thing to do though.

I am having the exact same issue. I also noticed that I cannot create udpreceive objects just like that. It seems I have to open the help patch on udpreceive and only then I can start creating those objects.

Today I as open my patch the udpreceive object was in red, and not even by lowering the numbers got anything to work.

Any other experiences on that? Would be much appreciated...
