Recently I installed pd extended on a Ubuntu 12.04 machine using the pd installer i found at http://puredata.info/downloads/pd-extended
It installed without problems and works fine. I used the one for Maverick.
Why do you need compiling it?
sorry, I have not that machine right now. I'll check about the libmagick++3.
Did you try the 10.4 too?
The lucid's file is corrupted.
I can't install somethings in Precise Pangolin:

I installed the precise version of the latest autobuilds on 12.04, and as far as i tested worked..
http://autobuild.puredata.info/auto-build/latest/
I successfully compiled Pd-extended 0.43 on Kubuntu 64 a few weeks ago because the Lucid-amd64 package wouldn't install from the gui and didn't tell me why. The only weird thing I've come across is that I get a red circle with a line through it when hovering over/inlets and outlets instead of the black circle, and for some reason the X11 logo instead of an X when hovering over patch cords to delete. Everything else seems to be working fine.
I just followed the instructions here:
http://puredata.info/docs/developer/BuildingPdExtended/?searchterm=build%20pd-extended
I used the rsync method to get the sources (your pastbin link suggests you don't have the sources), and I used the Debian instructions in "Setting up your machine for building" in the "Developer's Documentation" page (it seemed more up-to-date). It's the first thing I've ever compiled on Linux, and it went smoothly.
Interestingly, after it built the .deb package, I had the same issue when trying to install it from the gui. I then went to the terminal and used dpkg to install it, and it told me I needed to install Lua. So it's possible the Lucid package would have still worked if I had just tried dpkg first. ;-p
Thank for help me.
Problem solved but...
Does auto builds unstable?
i have the same problem, cant either compile pd sucessfull or use the maverick deb. i tryed but enbded up in an endless tree of depencies. after i installed the depencies, i had to install depencies for the depencies which again depend on other librarys which did need to get compiled for which again depencies where nesessary..
so now i have installed an compiled so much crap and depencies, i dont even know anymore which depencies i have compiled or installed and probably filled my clean machine with a bunch of depencies junk
the autobuild is not working either, can not open the link... the 0.43 beta / presice link is also not working

this is not working. even if you get all the depencies... when you want to install, ubuntu gives warming about bad package, when you want to install either way, it will do so and then shortly befor the end stopp and give error, something about brocken pipe
unfortunatly also the autobuild is not working. is there no way to get pd installed on ubuntu 12.04. i have allready searched the internet for serveral days now. everybody complaining about the same problem, but no solution
when i want to compile pd extended the make install aborts with an error: at least one program is needed....
edit:
now i got further and it start compiling, but after a while it canceled with error 1 and error 2
I try a lot compile pd on ubuntu 12.04... But I found this ppa:
