After trying a modified version of the patch from http://puredata.hurleur.com/sujet-5355-scratching-system I found that it was everything I needed, except one big issue:
When I load one file on the one side when playing a file on the other, it stops everything until it is loaded. If I'm supposed to use this as a DJ program, this needs to be fixed. So, is there any way around it and in a way so I can still have all the functions?? Please tell me if it is not, because if so I have decided to buy and use Max/MSP instead.

The best thing you can do is preload all the samples you intend to use before a performance into separate tables and switch through them.

It's a shame that this issue is still flying around because it's a bummer for lots of musicians (art/science people don't seem to suffer a lot from this). But I guess it's so deeply entangled in the way pd is coded that it can not be easily resolved.

One thing I never tried was loading a soundfile into a table from a ramdrive. Make a drive using ramfs (linux, I think you can do this on windows too) and see if there are pops when it loads to the table... Since it's in memory should be much faster to get into a table right?
