Hi there.

I tried to import an .obj to use it in GEM via [model]. The import of the model worked fine, but it has no texture. I exported the .mtl as well with 3ds Max, when I open the file with notepad I can see that the texture is used.
But how do i use it in PD? I used the material message, thanks to the [model]-helpfile, but the texture does not show up. Is there anything else I need to do?

textures must be square (256x256 for example) to dislpay propperly.
are you using the newest gem version? texture coordinates are only implemented since a year or so...

I do use the newest version, and I don't know why, but it does work now. I didn't change anything since yesterday, but now it works. Thanks for your help

Here I am, again, with another question. I guess I have some kind of inner blockade or something, but I just can't figure that out. I think it's mostly because i miss the If-else-then-things of written code..
I have my house, the import worked fine, and so on. But now I want to switch the textures in real time, and I cant figure out how to do that. There is a second input. If this input is 1, choose the left texture. If the input is 0, choose the right texture. Simple in written code, but I cant get it working in PD.. Any ideas anyone?

use [gate] above the 2 pix image and connect both of them to pix_texture.

Basically it worked. I can change the texture to the first map, then to the second map, but not back to the first map. It seems that they overlay, and I cant get rid of them..

post the patch, i cant believe it.
maybee just take 2 gemchains and switch them on and off.
alternatively you can just load the 2 different images in pix_image with a
[open $1 ( message. this has the fatal drawback that you can only perform this change some 100 times (depending on the map size) as the memory doesnt get free any more for some reason. to solve this you would use [pix_buffer] and [pix_buffer_read] in your gemchain.

Finally, [pix_buffer] works! Strange, but it's actually easier than gate, thanks again. I think I have to give you some credit in the project

could someone help me out, by posting a 3d .obj model that works with texture? I can't get it to work, but am also very new to 3d models..
