Does anyone know how to go along implementing a frequency shifter in Pd? My brain is defiantly refusing to solve this mystery.

Frequency Shifter

Do you mean "pitch-shifting"? If so, have a look at "3.audio.examples/G09.picthshift.pd" in the Help Browser.

Not quite. Pitch shifting changes all the partials by multiples, whereas frequency shifting (if I understand correctly) adds the same freqency in Hz to all the partials. To illustrate...
Raising the fundamental up an octave using pitch shifting (*2):
Partials (Hz)
100 200 300 400 ... becomes
200 400 600 800 ...Raising the fundamental up an octave using frequency shifting (+ fundamental frequency):
100 200 300 400 ... becomes
200 300 400 500 ...I just read about it in the Sound on Sound Synth Secrets articles, and thought it might be fun to play with something like it.

Look at the complex-mod~-help.pd that should be in your extra/ folder

thanks maelstorm. i never understood what frequency shifting did until this thread came along.

the rjdj objects have some badass effects, including a frequency shifter and a pitch shifter. check em out
