Throwing an idea: would it be possible to add a "chat room" service to this forum
for people that are on-line (and accept to be reached by the service - more or less like gmail chat)?
I don't know if it is technically feasible or if people in general like this or not.
What do you guys think ?

There is a chat box extension for PunBB. This is something Niko needs to know about since it needs changes on the server outside of admin.

I don't have a strong opinion either way, but if people want it, and it can work, and Niko says yes, then why not?

yeah as godinpants says. #dataflow is already well set up for pd chatting

you just need to install/find an IRC client. (on this ubuntu setup it's called xchat)

for windows mIRC is widely used.
and for mac i'd suggest colloquoy
