What i want:
the original idea was to be able to modulate the volume of another loop with a field recording, for instance a babbling brook

What I have already:
I have two recorded loops one that plays to the dac~ and one that gets read via tabplay~ & snapshot~ and is then sent to the right inlet of a *~ right before the dac~ for the first loop.

Problem:
Either i am crazy or its not working quite the way i had envisioned it and it may be my computer giving it a bit more of a glitchy sound than i am looking for in this patch

Solution:
am i bng'ing the snapshot to often?
is tabplay & snapshot not the ideal pair for this kind of thing?
Perhaps i am just over complicating this
Maybe an oscillator should be used somewhere?

so has anybody worked on something similar or have any ideas i have included a very nasty looking patch

A pitty, but i couldn't get any sound out of this (when i directly connected a dac~ to the adc~ i could hear a sound, so input wasn't the problem). What i've noticed however, is that the patch is quite heavy for the gui (sliders not reacting very well). I would try to avoid too much onscreen stuff going on, which can add a real cpu improvement.

What i would do to follow volume is use [envrms~] which drives a [line~] (with a pack f f inbetween) to add some lag to the envelope. Does that make any sense?

Perhaps you can achieve your desired sound by multiplying the sectra of the 2 sounds. This will have the effect of silencing any bandwidth not present in both sources. You get the character of the colored sound and the shape of the whiter sound (in this case, the stream gurgle).

still needs some work but thank you for the right direction!
