Ive been practicing with a external midi beatbox thing. and now I think I sould use a second computer as a beatbox. so its faster. I tried a usb cable, I dont know maybe you need a command to wake up the connection between the two computers . ??

For computer-to-computer communication, Open Sound Control over a LAN may be easier than MIDI (as a transport device).

For sending midi over the network there is rtpmidi:

It is/should be built in on macOS.

But as said above OSC is probably easier to setup (and much higher resolution)
