Can we get any information on the selected object/objects in tcl? Object number/position/what it is, anything? I get the impression all of this is handled by the tk canvas on the C side of things but I can't quite figure out how everything here works.

Edit: As an aside, can you reload a plugin at the tclprompt? Getting sick of having to constantly quit and restart pd to test things.

not really, pd stores all information about the object. the most you can do is look at the tags. You could probably get the geometry of the shapes somehow, and look for certain tag patterns to isolate the outlines though.

@seb-harmonik.ar Yeah, I played with the tags for awhile and I can get the location of an object from inlet 0 and find all of an objects iolets and I can probably figure out object number without too much effort but I am not convinced it would be reliable and it would not pretty. Will just stick to my abstraction which won't be as elegant but works. Did not even think of using source, I was over thinking it. Thanks.

@fishcrystals That is the tclprompt I was talking about, I just failed to realize the obvious command that most every scripting language has.
