I will give a workshop on Neural Networks in Pd at the PikselXX AI AI AI festival, on the 19th of November, 10-13h Central European Time. The workshop is free of charge, you'll have to book your place though. It will be based on my external [neuralnet] and will cover scenarios where neural networks can be useful in a musical or more broadly, artistic context. Hello, thanks for your great job. Is there a way to attend remotely? It's unlikely I'll be able to travel but this would be very much of interest to me.
-
Yep, I can see it says "online" all over the site, but I don't see a link to register.
-
I won't be on-site either I wish I were, but aparently it's not possible. The workshop will be online, but you'll have to sign up by sending to the email address that's at the top of the page I linked. I guess they will provide a link around those days.

@alexandros Is the presentation you gave available for streaming? I never heard back from the presenters, but it's also true that I was particularly wrecked that night and prob wouldn't have gotten up at 4a my time to watch it. I'd also be happy (maybe even happier) to read an introduction.
-
@jameslo TBH, I have no idea. I'll ask them and get back to you. It ended up being a one-to-one workshop as there was only one attendant We went through the examples that come with the [neuralnet] object and talked about neural networks, training data sets, and how to set up a network.
-
@jameslo : I'm joining the conversation here since I was that one attendant @alexandros is mentioning!
I doubt there is a recording since the conference tool said "not recording" and the organizers were not present for the whole time. So if the 2 of us don't have a recording, there probably isn't any. But it was a great introduction (thanks again, @alexandros!) and if you didn't do so already, I can really encourage you to check out the examples that are in the folder of theneuralnet
external (which is available through deken). @alexandros: are you planning to update the version with the minor fixes that you've added (iirc - although I think those were documentation fixes)? Or is the repo on https://github.com/alexdrymonitis/neuralnet more up-to-date compared to the deken version? -
@ben.wes nice to see you here! I hadn't even noticed the "not recording" thing. @jameslo I sent an email to the organizers, but they haven't answered yet, and I won't be surprised if they don't answer at all.
There are no bug fixes concerning the code, only some minor tweaks in the help patch. GitHub is indeed more up-to-date with that, but it's really not important.
The main issue I have updating (although I don't have any reason to update yet, as there's nothing to update at this point), is that I can't compile for all OSes, and I have to ask people from the community to help out, and it's a bit annoying. Once I figure out how to compile for all, I'll probably make some updates. The Deken version though is fine to use as it is.
