I updated my source directory, then did:

./autogen.sh
./configure
make

Then realized there was no JACK support, so I found in the readme that I should have done ./configure --enable-jack and rebuild... which I did, but still no JACK support.

So Pd is dead in the water for me.

Any suggestions? Blow away all the build products and start again?

Answering my own question: make clean followed by reconfiguring and rebuilding did fix the problem.

So apparently, if you need JACK support, you must ./configure --enable-jack at first -- you can't build, change configuration, and build just the changed bits.

I did eventually find it. It just surprised me that I had to blow away the whole configuration and clean build everything. The build system allows you to modify the configuration, but then doesn't apply the change fully.
