I am able to do that.

Is there a way to feed it the variables that I want it to have.

Let's say I have an object that I want to use a float. Think like metro

Is there a way to feed the object the numbers I want it to have?

I am not sure what you are trying to do. I don't think that you can open a patch with an creation argument like an abstraction.

The open message to pd has the structure [open patchname.pd /path/to/patch/(.

That is what I was fearing. It seems I cannot do what I want to do. I am a bit disappointed but I can see if I can do this some other way.

Yes, used the word I was looking for. "Creation argument." There does not seem to be a way to add a creation argument to an abstraction.

The answer is you cannot feed the variable to the patch when you open it with the open message.

So there are two possibilities: Open the patch and send the value to it. Or use dynamic patching to create the object with an creation argument.

Dynamic patching can be really nice for that, but it is also a bit more complicated.

Hmmmm... OK, now I have to look into dynamic patching in Pure Data.

@raynovich Another solution could be to set a [value] in the main patch and use this [value] in the opened patch on load.
