Hi there, I'm trying out Pure Data because I'm looking for an audio (and visual) platform that can interface with arduino IDE. I'm using data collected from sensors in IDE and want to use that to manipulate sounds in Pure Data.

However, having a quick look round at tutorials, they all seem to be using PD-extended, which I see is no longer supported. I don't mind using that on a temporary basis, but before I get in too deep with PD, I want to know that I'll be able to keep using it in future.

Would appreciate your help if anyone can confirm;

1. Is there a currently supported version of PD that allows for communication with Arduino IDE?
2. Is there some other intermediary that can be used to translate between IDE and PD Vanilla?
3. Are there alternative platforms to PD which people are using for this sort of project (ie having arduino communicate with an audio platform to drive changes in sound?)

i can remember, that i once used pd to control a step-motor via arduino board. theres an external library called "pduino". you can install it in pd via
help > find externals ----> type in "pduino" and hit search button
after installation, you can use "arduino" as an object in your patches. check the help file for it (in the context menu when you right-click on the object)

Yep.. You can use comport. It be posible comunicate Pd and arduino.
