the subject line says it all, really!

when I load 44.1k sound files into [soundfiler], the right outlet gives me a list including the sample rate, correctly including "44100" as the first item in the list.

However, when I load 96k sound files, I'm consistently given a sample rate of 30464! Other sample rates seem to work correctly - I've also tested 22050, 37800, 44100, 48000, these are all fine. I'm using 0.48 on OS X.

Anyone else running into this?

@amazingrolo I'm also on macOS and I also get 30464 for most of my 96000 wav samples, but for one aif sample I got 96000, and for one 82000 wav I got 22664.
basically I don't ever get consistent results which makes me wonder whether that has something to do with the files themselves somehow.

Is sample rate limited to 16 bits unsigned?

96000 = 0x17700 (hex)
16 '1' bits = 0x0FFFF
0x17700 bitAnd 0x0FFFF = 0x07700 = 30464

(All of the "OK" sample rates are < 0xFFFF = 65535 = within 16 bits. All of the problem sample rates are >= 65536, requiring 17 bits or more.)
