My laptop crashed. When I changed to my new (Well, older laptop) I tried to load on everything but there are some issues. Any help with these would be greatly appreciated.

For this one piece I was working on, I was using pd-extended. Yes, I know it has been obsolete for a few years now. I switched to vanilla for a new piece I was working on.

Now I am back to the other piece I was composing.

A couple of frustrating things are happening. I was trying to use pd-extended and using |counter| and send the number of counter to }pack} but there was an error that stated that the value expected a float but received a bang.

Then I opened my patch in .047-1-64bit.app. and seeing some things that I am am trying to be most efficient in fixing. Here are a couple of them:

|unsig~| does not work in "regular" pd? Is there a different object I should use? Is there really no equivalent or am I doing something wrong? (I was using in pd-extended |unsig~ 50|

Maybe a general question: What should I do? Start over? Recreate my patch? Try to fix everything in the old pd-extended? Go to the most recent version of pd?

in your patches are you typing
for example:
counter or
cyclone/counter. ?

searches indicate
pvu~ is part of iemlib1

Average belongs to markex? as well as alternate

you should be able to just install cyclone iemlib markex
using Find Externals from the help menu.

then open a copy of your patch in a text editor and just Find replace all for each of the objects if necessary for example counter becomes cyclone/counter.

Other people might have other suggestions.

Thank you so much. I have put off trying to get my composition back up because I thought it would be so much harder. The only one I am left struggling with right now is pvu~.

You say it is in iemlib1 for that. I looked for that external but it cannot be found. I see that that object is in pd-l2ork from Virginia Tech. How do I get that working? Once I have that, I think I am good to go again!

@raynovich here [pvu~] is in iemlib.

[cyclone/counter] is explicit and may help in some cases, but at least on my system it is enough to write [counter] after installing the external from Help > Find externals (also called deken).

Trying to figure out what is wrong with that object. Counter works now.

You will probably need to declare the iemlib1.dll.
For some reason iemlib has been split into iemlib1.dll and iemlib2.dll.
You can declare it in the patch with
[declare -stdlib exact-path-to your-externals/iemlib/iemlib1]
