@whale-av Thanks! to record! I hope my computer can take it lol Ill tag you whenever the recording is ready
-
Unexpected noises appear when playing score
-
@whale-av no!!!!! It cant take it!!! hahahahah i sent a message to my buddy to see of I can record at his house
-
@Ale-H.H. I wonder if you are hitting a limit for OSC messages?.... it will be a lot of data. Can Iannix send each curve on a separate port? 64 ports is probably the maximum for Pd.
You will need a master volume as well....... 31 voices are going to overload the dac.......... fixed4.zip ...... again -
@whale-av the only way to send a curve through individual port is if the curve had its own cursor, but that way it would change everything, it would be poly-temporal, the way i work is lineal, the audio seemed fine, I liked it, any way If we have 16 parameters per curve, sometimes Id reach more than 64 curves, i think the only option is to have better ram and processor
-
@whale-av anyway Im not really a fan of polytemporality for the music´s sake, you can write anything linearly, and its much easier
-
maybe on the next one lets put master volume as well@whale-av
-
@Ale-H.H. My last post has the master volume.....
I hope it will work on the other computer.
David. -
@whale-av Yessss!! I hope so too!
-
@whale-av No, i thought he had abetter computer but it´s practically the same as mine, tried with my sister also and no luck, the thing is that I record using screenflow at the same time, its for video, i tried once to record on pure data following some tutorials but it didnt work
-
@whale-av I think Ill try again
-
@Ale-H.H. Nop no luck aagh!
-
@whale-av ILL SEE IF YOU CAN HAVE TWO TIMELINES like you said and divide the curves into each one of them
-
@Ale-H.H. I can run Iannix, and run the Pd patch..... computer using 6% cpu with all the sine waves running...... but I have no curves.
But it sounds horrible....... of course there is no proper relationship between the "fake fixed curves" that I have set...... so it starts to sound more like "random noise"....
David. -
@whale-av done, which one do you want to try? I added another timeline and changed all the morphing curves to it, like this....:
-
@whale-av here are the curves for the normal one, one timelineDS3(1).iannix , I liked it with several timelines! the next score will have several timelines...
Ill upload the one with two timelines next... -
@whale-av here is the one with two timelines...DS3twotimelines.iannix Iannix is very buggy so probably the timelines curve was cut and doesnt reach the end of the score, and it starts a second late or sooner, Iliked it with several timelines! I hope it works for the next score,,, ill have two parameters per time line, for example in the first one there will be pitch and morphing timbre which would be the 3rd dimension, if it worked yet!
-
@whale-av In iannix if you want the note C4 to be at the center of the score you have to custom map the cursor: y going from -73 to 55, then each square on the grid will equal 1/2 tone vertically
-
@whale-av like this:
-
@Ale-H.H. It runs fine for me (windows7 under bootcamp.... MacBook pro I7) with the first complete curve set.... DS3(1).iannix.
At first I thought ianniX had hung, but it tales 20 seconds to load the file...... and says "not responding".
CPU about 16-30% though, so warm knees.
Pd will probably use less cpu if you keep it's windows minimised.
After a while playing around (never used IanniX) I upped the speed to 5X and it was still fine.
David. -
@whale-av yeah Im going to get a new computer, but why run it under bootcamp?:0
