how do I hook a audio patch into a Gem patch. I want to be able to speak into the microphone and make the Gem render move

I have been through the entire manual. Now how do I make the kaleidoscope rotate on its own? How do I set it to music, and make it rotate back and forth connected to a DSP patch?
