I have been through the entire manual. Now how do I make the kaleidoscope rotate on its own? How do I set it to music, and make it rotate back and forth connected to a DSP patch?

I want to play color and sound simultaneously.

I'd start with [env~]. Basically, it takes the volume and gives you numbers you can hook up to stuff.
To make it rotate, do this:
[tgl]
|
[metro 25]
|
[counter 360]
|
[% 360]Plug that into a number box, and plug the number box into the fifth inlet of [pix_kaleidoscope], which is the output angle.

thanks man!

No problem. I'm only just kind of starting out fiddling with GEM, myself. You can do without the number in [counter], it's just a preference.

ok iam having trouble with my patches some times they work and sometimes not
-
how do I debug an individual patch?
-
Can you upload them for me? I'll try to see what's up.
EDIT: I will say, though, I debug by putting a bang or number atom on the output around the area I think might be problematic, and keep an eye on the console window also, that'll usually give you a good idea of what the problem is.

ok thanks

You could also use [cup] to simplify it since you aren't using any other features of [counter] plus I love [cup]
