Hi,
Silly question really, I've been searching for days - I'm sure the answer is a firm NO!
Has anyone got any ideas how they might make something similar to the tc helicon gtx vocal effect. Basically, take a guitar and then use the chords to choose the harmony as a singer sings.
I used to own one of them and it was great, however I sold it as I wasn't using it. I've seen people say things like you can't do that kind of processing live, which might be true, but how does this pedal work then?????
Many thanks,

@EEight That was amazing! Is that your work? If so, any chance I could get a copy of the patch with the Kinect part?
Many thanks,

@whale-av As always, thank you very much for your help! I will look into using the xbox kinect.

Hi,
I was just wondering if I could get some sort of 'ingredients' list of sorts (patches that I might be able to 'mix' together, + hardware, I might need), in order to control a moving light (DMX) and make it follow someone on a stage.
I've seen things where Pd is able to follow a wiimote. Could I put a IR sensor on someone and then have Pd track that and then send the position to a light??
Am I hoping for to much?
Does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks,

@whale-av Thanks for all your help.
I ended up emailing W-DMX and they said that the product was outdated, but that they also didn't support mac... so it probably wouldn't work anyway.
I guess I'll try a different interface!!
Many thanks,

@whale-av Yeah unfortunately that seems to only be available for Windows.
Nothing with the device sadly...
Thanks for your help

@whale-av Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! Both patches look great and if I can get it to work I will definitely make a console.
For now, this is the issue I'm currently having....
If I look for the device using [devices] message into [comport] (see screenshot) I only get port 0 = bluetooth.
However if I look in system information under USB I can see the WDMX device it listed.
I'm just wondering if there is another step I've missed out.
(And sorry I should have said I'm using a Mac.)
Many thanks,

Hello again,
I have a question. Is there a way to list things I plug into my computer. Like a print command I can run in Pd that will list all the things currently plugged in?
What I want to do is control some DMX lights with Pd. Someone has very kindly lent me an adapter that will go between my laptop and the lights (USB dongle/plug and play) however I can't seem to find it on my computer.
I was thinking that there has to be a way to list them all...
Any help is much appreciated,

I wish!
It's more to do with how the device gives out information, or rather doesn't give it out. The UP has to be used first, whilst it stores information and then you download it later. I mean you could still use the data to make some cool "a day in the life" piece but I really wanted to get something I could wear to control settings inside of Ableton. At the moment I use a WiiMote that has been modified, but it's a bit clunky (size-wise). Someone said to try their UP, but no luck. I think other Bluetooth enabled wristbands do exist, so maybe if someone lends me one of those I'll try again.
Thanks,

The UP isn't bluetooth, so that put an end to that idea. Someone gave me a secondhand one, so I thought I could use it with some music, but alas... I can't.
Thanks for the help though.

Hi,
I don't know if this exists or not but it would be great if it did.
I recently came across the UP by Jawbone (some sort of exercise measuring device) and I was wondering if it's possible to get the information out of it and into a DAW like Ableton, to create a relatively cheap wearable control....
Any ideas or tips would be great.
Many thanks

Hi
Just wondering if I've done something wrong with this patch? It will work with out stripnote, but then I get two bangs (I only want the note value) and when I put stripnote in it stops working for me... but I don't know why??
I also had this problem before with another patch, so I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong!!
Many thanks,

This is great! Thank you very much for your help - no doubt I'll have more questions later on in the project - but this should keep me busy for the time being.
Thanks,

Hi Liam,
Thanks for your feedback. You advice with the number atom is very helpful, although I do usually remove them later, when I'm patching I like to see everything that is happening. I guess I weird like that, but I didn't realise it was using CPU so thanks!!
I will also give an abstraction a go! I'm not new to Pd, I've just always used it in a very limited way, so I've never tried this.
Maybe you could help me further.
I'm trying to use a PNOscan which will trigger previously recorded clips. However the piece the pianist is playing is very difficult. So, I thought it would be best to count the notes as she plays and then use some sort of conditional logic to say, if note 64 is played 7 times trigger this audio.
So I guess my question is, clearly Lucien's method is better, but how do I take the information from the Array and place it back into number atoms (like in my patch) so I can easily see how many time each note has been played and then write the appropriate conditional logic?
Once again, I'm very grateful for any suggestions/help anyone has.
Many thanks,
TobyAlso this site/forum is amazing so thanks again, again.

Thanks LucienR, I will give that a try.
Here's the patch I've been working on this morning - any improvements you can think of would be greatly received.
Thanks,

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knew of a way in which I can count all the notes played on a MIDI keyboard, and then look back and see how many times each note had been played.
I started building a patch but I was having all kinds of issues, and then I thought I can't be the first person wanting to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Many thanks,
TobyApologies if I'm posting in the wrong place, I'm new to this forum.
