Hi!
I try to implement my own software controller fro Pro Tools using PureData.
My questions are:
Has someone used PureData to send and receive Mackie HUI Protocol messages to/from ProTools?
Do you know if I can use MIDI to control ProTools from PureData?
Can I receive Midi messages from ProTools in order to know fader position, for example?
All kind of help will be very usefull for me. Thank a lot in advance.

I built my own parametric EQ with Puredata.
But, my problem is: How I can write a graphic image?
I try to explain...
My eq is working, I apply freq, Q, gain. But I have not a "visual image" showing me freq cuttings, Q envelope or gain reduction. I attach an example what I'm talking about and what I'm trying to do.Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

If some people are working with netsend~ and netreceive~...
can you send audio between two computers over a wlan?
what about latency?
It's possible to use this objects for real-time audio transmition? If I have connected a microphone in computer A and I send audio signal to computer B over wlan using UDP, what latency I must expect?
Do you know other objects can be used to do this?
Maybe audio over OSC? It seems theorically possible.
I hope you can understand me because English is not my native language. Sorry.
Waiting for your news.

Has someone a simple noise gate patch to share?
Release (in ms.), threshold (db), hold (in ms.) and attack (in ms.)
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Well, I have an audio signal in my audio input #1
I want to do 2 different things:
-
Use a Vslider to regulate from -oodb to 0db (Exactly the maximum input level)
-
Use a Vslider to regulate from -oodb to +6db (6dbs more than maximum input level)
Is the object *~ the best election?
What values I need to set in Vslider? Can I measure gain using env~? What extra caution I must take?
Thanks a lot in advance.

After the useful help of forum comunity I'm using the simple 3bands DJstyle EQ (with biquad~), but now I need more complex EQs.
I need a 8 bands parametric EQ, where I can set Frequency, Q and gain range of +12 / -12 dbs for every band.
What do you think is the best option in therms of CPU load and sound quality to do this?
Do you know some example patch?
Thanks again for your help.

They are some way to configure Puredata in order to prevent the automatic conversion of the number 1000023 to 1.000e+006?
This conversion is a problem for me using "route" object. I'm sending a message to PD over OSC with the name /1000023 and I need to change manually into PD patch every time I close and open the patch because PD don't understand the message as 1000023.
Well, I hope you can understand me.
thanks a lot in advance.

What's the best method to access to soundcard info and number of channels from a PD patch?
I try to explain... I'm comunicating PD patch with Flash using OSC. How can I retry soundcard type, info, and number of channels from the PD patch and send to Flash app?
Thanks a lot in advance.

To PD Gurus:
In my PD project I need to insert a simple 3 bands eq over 120 audio channels.
Big trouble is I'm using an old AMD Athlon processor computer and I need the best EQ for saving CPU load. I don't need extremely "quality" EQ. Simple 3 bands EQ and low CPU load.
What do you think is the best option?
Some patch or example? Thanks a lot in advance.

Well... I have my pd patch running. I'm controlling it from external application using OSC messages.
I have 2 questions:
Can I build an exe file for Windows wich can be easyly installed in other computers containing my Pd patch?
Can I force Windows to run my Pd patch as a service and be invisible? (only accessible from Tray, for example)
At last, I don't need direct interaction with my pd patch, so It will be pretty if I can run it "silently".
Wainting for your ideas. Thanks a lot in advance.

Dears, I try to explain what I need to do with pd. I'm newbie and I can't find solution for this.
Imagine I have 16 audio ins. I want use PD in order to change dinamically the output volume of this 16 audio ins using OpenSoundControl messages and route mixing to one output.
So... Can I do some kind of "virtual fader" which receives 2 values from 2 variables: input track and volume?
What object is better to choice in order to use as a fader receiving control values from a var?
I hope you can understand me.
Waiting for your news. Thank you very much in advance.

Hello!
At first excuse me for my poor english. I hope you can understand me. I'm spanish.
I'm absolutely newbie in Pd world, but I think it's amazing!
I have some questions at this moment:
-
Where Can I download the -lib OSCx? I can't found it!
-
How can I install OSCx lib in order to work with Pd? Know you some tutorial for load "externals"?
-
Can I send audio stream over a WLan using Pd and OSC? For example: my computer n#1 with a RME soundcard is running an audio app and I'm working remotely with my computer n#2 mixing some tracks. Can I stream my mix in the computer n#2 audio output without audio compression?
What about latency?
Can I do it with more computers? -
It's possible to install Pd or some Pd special version in PDAs running Windows Mobile?
-
Its' possible to comunicate Pd with Flash applications?
Excuse me for my ignorance! I'm sorry.
Your help will be very welcome!
Best wishes and regards from Spain.

Maybe you can help me with this issue:
I'm going to use Sysexin in order to retrieve sysex messages from ProTools. For example the track name in order to pass it to my own midi controller in PureData.
What do you think is the best way to do it?
What do you think is the best way to convert the sysex message to "text"?Your suggestions will be welcome. Thanks in advance.
