@musicproject I think I might have confused you somewhat,
So I have a a txt file and I am using the Q list object box to make it output certain numbers, I want those numbers to correspond to lets say a drum set. How would I go about creating such a drum set per se in order to make my numbers correspond to particular tunes.

I want to produce Audio in Pure data using pure text files (TXT versions), I have already managed to convert the file that I wan tto use (in this case Football commentary) into TXT versions using another software and want to see if I can produce some sort of music (or any sort of sound really) using such a file. I was wondering If anyone has any patches/links/helpful advice that could guide me in the write direction for such a patch. Thank you.

I would like help with designing a patch that
- lets me select a midi pitch and then
- using additive synthesis helps me generate repeating cycles of complex sine waves
Anyone who may have similar patches of such a nature please let me see them so I have a good idea of how to go about this. Cheers!

I Feel like im a few simple steps away from achieving what I want with my idea.
So having established I can switch between multiple waveforms. i want to be able to create a patch that uses the GUI radio and be able to click a box that helps me create a sine, square, sawtooth and triangle wave on a graphical output everytime I click a different but specific output on the GUI radio box (Also known as the v or H slider) -

Absolutely fascinating!!
IM going to go one step further. Say if I want it to produce FOUR different waves on command. So if i wanted a sawtooth then a sine and THEN maybe even a square or triangle wave. Im assuming this is all possible too then haha.

Thank you guys so much. So just out of curiosity, if i wanted to run a patch that lets me click and switch between sawtooth waves and then a click back to a sine wave could i do that?

Hi, i wanted to ask How I could use Pd to specify a certain frequency and then show freuquency in a waveform, specifically a sawtooth wave

Id like them to specify it as a midi note, how do i
- Let the user use a number box to choose the SPN/ISP/ASPN octave of the note
-Let the user use a number box to choose the number of half-steps above C the note is,
given as an integer restricted to the range 0-11
Let the user click a bang box (after the octave and the half-steps have been set) to then
• Print out the frequency of the note, expressed in Hertz
• Print out the MIDI note number corresponding to that frequency
• Play the note on MIDI channel 1 with a velocity of 100 for 1 second
- Let the user use a number box to choose the SPN/ISP/ASPN octave of the note

I am fairly new to prue data and I have been dabbing for the past few hours. I need to learn how to
learn how to write a Pure Data patch that lets the user of my patch
specify a note and then print some information about that note and play that note via MIDI
output.. Any help that can be given is great and if you could direct me to any useful resources that would be great too. I am trying toconvert an octave number and a number of half steps into a hertz frequency.
