i installed the most recent pd-extended on a vanilla 10.5 1.6 ghz intel mac mini and been trying to get the gem window (from the gemwin help patch) to open in fullscreen on the main display, but to no avail. the osx menu bar stays, no matter which messages i bang the gemwin with.

i know people encountered the same problem in the past but i couldn't find a solution yet. i tried the plist method and unfortunately using a second screen is not an option.

is there a way to configure pd to quit without the confirmation window popping up? i've wanted to set up my mac to boot and shutdown an installation at certain time of the day, but it seems like the confirmation window will not allow the system to shut down.

i was wondering if anyone has any experience to share on this topic. basically we have to play 2 synced videos on two screens.

would i do that with a gem window that simply spans the entire screen area and play the videos as video texture on two planes? or are there any other options?

thanks to forum member skatias help i was able to finish this thing and thought someone might at some point find this useful. this patch splits the microphone input over a 7 band equalizer where each spectral ranges volume is controllable through a midi keyboard.

i'm trying to get this to work but frankly i dont understand why this patch does exactly the opposite of what i want

what i'm trying to achieve here is that only if midi note #65 is coming in i want to know about this notes velocity value. any other midi-# should just be ignored or even reset the velocity value to zero.

any help would be much appreciated!

i successfully installed the latest version of pd vanilla on my mini mac. unfortunately there are no sound input/output devices to select in the configuration, hence testing the sound in/outputs fails. am i missing something here? any help would be greatly appreciated!

ok thats weird, right after submitting this topic i relaunched pd and now there i can select sound devices,

still testing the sound ouput with "test audio and midi" does not make any noise...
