hello there fellow Pure Datains,
Im having huge problem figuring out a way to manage to take my guitar signal and turn it in to midi output in PD. Does anyone have any experince with that sort of thing.... i know it is possible just can't figure out how.

Have a look at the documentation for pd (it's in the program folder of Pd).......
You need to get to this folder.........
pd\doc\manuals\1.Sound
and then open........... detecting_pitch.pd

Use the pitch detector ([sigmund], i think), then use [ftom] to turn the frequency information into midi information, that should work

try [fiddle~] (it's not so great on lower pitches though, you may need to tweak the arguments etc but the help file is pretty good lark

ahhhh brilliant,,, yes I feel like I used [sigmund~] once and it worked,,, never tried fiddle~ thanks people! I shall go on with my tests!
