I have used MAX a little and just downloaded PD.
Why can't I get it to find and play my sound files?

-Under preferences I set the path to Users/Shared/PD/ This is where I put all the .aif files I wanted to use as well as patches.
-In the patch I tried [open Users/Shared/PD/file.aif] and [open ../file.aif] connected to the readsf~ object. Neither of those ways worked.

Whenever I try to open I get 'error: dsp: No such file or directory'
I'm using version 0.40-2 on OSX 10.4.8

Pretty basic thing I need to get started.

try /Users/Shared/PD/file.aif

(ie, there is a backslash before 'Users')

also, i don't remember, but it might be case sensitive, so check which parts need to be capitalized.

The backslash seems to work. Thanks!
