Hi. New to PureData, but excited by the possibilities, particularly with embedded platforms.
I was wondering is there was an inverse version of spell - like the atoi function in C - which would convert ASCII to int/unicode/numbers (I know that PD doesn't use ints)?

do you mean something like [list tosymbol] & [list fromsymbol] ?

If you're using extended, these list features are not available, so use [moocow/bytes2any] to convert ASCII to characters, and [moocow/any2bytes] to do the opposite.
