I have somehow managed to install pd-l2ork on osx a few years ago. Cant remember how, but couldnt have been to difficult, otherwise i would not have succeeded.
Just as hint for research, or more wise people to jump in,

Hi all,
After struggling for a while with similar issues (sudo apt-get install -f removing pd-l2ork, etc) I finally got pd-l2ork working. I started again with a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 install (it was force majeure actually, I found out what happens when you use sudo with no idea of what you are doing).

I executed the commands to get all the necessary dev libraries found on the pd-l2ork install page (it's a long string of library names, and took a while to download and unpack) BEFORE installing the deb package from the Terminal.
It still didn't worked so I typed sudo apt-get install -f et voilá, il a arreté!
Basically I properly followed the instructions. I hope it helps someone.
