I can't get this one figured out. I've tried to [textfiles], but had no luck with recalling from [textfile] back to umber boxes or sliders- does anybody have tips?

Parameter saving...

i started with the polyphonic synth example in the pd help docs. it has a fairly straight forward saving mechanism.
also, by the way, in your patch you use a lot of gui objects.. bangs, graphs, etc...
instead of the gui bang, use [bang( or [t b]
and instead of a graph with an array in it, use

7.stuff/synth/1.poly.synth.pd

thank you so much, hardoff. As you pointed out, the GUIs were taking an inordinate amount of cpu rsrc. This patch which I'm working on is getting very unwieldy (156k pd patch?) and I'm going to have to reconfigure from the ground up yet again.
where is the example synth? (this question reminds me that I am not out of the noob woods)
Once again hardoff, your knowledge and generosity are to the limit (as x-> inf)
any technology distinguishable from magic
is insufficiently advanced. -
example synth:
pd/resources/doc/7.stuff/1.poly.synth.pd
probably wrong, but that will lead you in the right direction...
it's one of the help files. just find the 7.stuff folder and you'll be sorted.

you know. it's not just out of generosity that people will help you. a lot of the time new users will come here asking, 'how do you do such and such...?"
and if you help them find the answer you will also learn something new about pd.
win-win situation.
lovely!
