Hi all
I'm newly registered here, but have actually been using this forum as a resource for months now, so feel like I know most of you already.
I wanted some advice about cleaning up sound on PD. I've been building a sampler which has the ability to skip from one part of the sample to another, but I find that this often results in clicks. Is there any way of getting around this? I've tried using a [lop~], but it doesn't seem to have helped. If a filter is the solution, can someone recommend the right settings for it?
My patch can also re-record small parts of the sampler, using a [start $1( message for [tabwrite~]. But I find that this sometimes records dirty sound, almost as if there were a trace of the original recording still there, as with magnetic tape. Has anyone else experienced this?
I'd be interested to hear how people deal with these, and any other techniques for achieving clean, high quality recorded sound on PD. This topic has probably been covered before, so feel free to point me towards other posts.
