I don't think hid is loaded by default, try putting an object: [import hid] into your patch

this gives me [import]: can't load library in 'hid'
does pd extended not have hid by default?
on my system its called [hidin]
thanks that was my misunderstanding. i was looking at screen shots of patches and a youtube video and the object was [hid] in whichever version they were using!
hint: if you are looking for objects in pd-extended and you dont know the name exactly, try searching in the pd/extra folder of your installation. (like: *list* or *hid*)
