I'm on xubuntu 12.10 +64 and I menaged to install opencv and all the required stuff - (http://docs.opencv.org/doc/tutorials/introduction/linux_install/linux_install.html#required-packages)
now Iwant to install pix_opencv and pdp_opencv (http://hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv#download_install)

but I couldn't find the right version for my sistem
I tried to install from source too but I've got errors and last one says
error: you need to install opencv library (libcv)

I'm pretty shure opoencv is installed

any idea?

Sorry for invading your thread, but I just want to ask if there's something more to be done to install pix_opencv, instead of just moving the extra folder to Pd's extra folder, doc to doc etc. as described in the readme.
I'm on osx 10.8.2 and Pd just can't create these objects..

I had to do a bunch of stuff before moving the pix_opencv folder to extra
I'm on xubuntu so I didn't check instructions for mac but they are there too http://hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv#download_install

For some reason it just won't work..it says it's for osx 10.6, should it be a problem I have 10.8? It seems strange..I followed the steps one by one but it won't work, and installing the source code won't do, I think cause I haven't installed Pd from source code (something like that appeared in the terminal)...aggrrrr...

it's updated so maybe this one works

I still have an error: pd sources not found in /usr/bin/pd-extended/bin
my problem now is that when i type ./configure --with-pd=x/y/z
it keeps saying pd sources not found in /x/y/z
on the contrary it did find the gem stuff
I'm quite there...

one step ahead, I installed pix_opencv downloading and compiling the svn source: https://pure-data.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/pure-data/trunk/externals/pix_opencv/
but I cannot open all the opencv objects, some are missing (pix_opencv_of_bm, pix_opencv_of_lk, pix_opencv_threshold, pix_opencv_hu_compare, pix_opencv_knear ...)
but they are not mentioned in the +64bit warning readme
still no success with pdp_opencv either
