I don't use max much but I do know that in max you can se an object called scale to manipulate the input of a number into a different range for the output

i.e. input between 1 & 3 = output between -24 & + 24

is there an object in pd that does this...?
also, what is the [range] object

i cant seem to get a help file up on it

[maxlib/scale] is what you want.

[range] doesn't instantiate for me.

Hi, I know [autoscale] and the [m_scale] object from the rjdj library.
The object list says that [range] is a deprecated flatspace object and it acts like [scale] but I'm not so sure of that.

I use this abstraction for scale. I think it's what you need.

Haha, I just made practically that exact same abstraction (scale_abs). Wish I saw that post an hour ago. It works very nice, but an explanation may help others...

inlets from left to right:
1. number input
2. old low
3. old high
4. new low
5. new high

and you can change any of these parameters on the fly!
