Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to sell a pd-patch, or, there are license violations?
Thanks,

Is it possible to sell a Pd patch?

The patch itself is yours, and you can put whatever license on it you want. So if you want to sell, you can.
The tricky part is if you also want to bundle Pd with it, because you can't change the license for Pd-vanilla or Pd-extended and its various libs. You can still sell them, but certain ways of distribution may not be available. For example, Apple's App Store doesn't like the LPGL license that Pd-extended has and won't let you use code from it, but they are fine with vanilla's BSD license.
Thanks a lot!
The RjDj is an application for iPone developed with pd, it is free.
If the price of RjDj is for example 5 euros, then this cant be distributed in App Store?
I think it's interesting to sell pd patches, but on the other hand everybody can modify the patch.
Bye!

They could still charge for the app if they wanted. RjDj just used Pd-vanilla, which has a license that the App Store is okay with. Pd-extended, however, doesn't, and you can't even put it in the App Store for free, from what I understand.

True, but what people do with it will still have to comply with the license of the patch itself. Besides, only people who actually know Pd will know how to modify it. Pd itself is open source, and you're allowed to mess with the code to your liking. But I'm sure most of us haven't.
Oops! Looks like something went wrong!
